The Spoleto’s plant was born in 1899 with the Farmers’ Cooperative of Perugia. It has been created to enhance our typical Extra Virgin Olive Oil. For this purpose the packaging system and national net of sellers were created too.
The activity, which has increased during the years, continues with the initial spirit and aims, devoted in particular to enhance Extra Virgin Olive Oils.
The Oil Mill of Spoleto is able to store up to 6.000 quintals. It is precisely storage that is one of the Oleificio’s strong points, as the majority of its tanks, made in stainless steel, are kept in an underground storage deposit, and are therefore able to offer the ideal conditions for the oil’s conservation: stable temperatures and absence of light.
Oil’s conservation and storage meet the P.D.O. disciplinary regulations, and the Consorzio has obtained UNI ENI ISO 9001 quality system certification for its structures and plants.
In regard to packaging, there are two semi-automatic lines, complete for different formats in glass and tins, with a packaging capacity of 200/300 quintals per eight working hours.
The Consorzio is able to provide all of the services required by the olive oil producers’ associations and their clients, like product’s collection and pressing of the oil at the existing olive press.
